What vacancies in Georgia ask for

We read 296 current vacancies on jobs.ge, across 17 categories, and counted what each one asks for. Below is what we found, and what it means for your CV.

Six things that surprised us

  1. 50% ask you to put something specific in the email subject

Usually the position's name or a vacancy code. Many recruiters filter their inbox by subject: break the rule and your CV may never be opened. Read the vacancy to the end before you send.

  2. 32% ask for English

15% ask for Russian. Write your level for each language clearly (B2, say, or "conversational"), and only what you can show in the interview.

  3. 11% say experience is preferred or not required

"Experience preferred" doesn't mean "experience only". Studies, volunteering, a family business and projects all go on the CV, and they count.

  4. 22% ask for office software

The program named most often is Excel (8%). Write each program exactly as the vacancy names it (Excel, 1C, CRM), not "computer skills". Those are the words the ATS and the recruiter look for.

  5. 4% ask for a cover letter

A separate letter is rarely asked for, but you mostly send the CV by email, and the few lines in that email still get read. A short note tailored to the vacancy beats an empty email.

  6. 35% show the salary

Otherwise, pay comes up in the interview. Know what you want beforehand, and back it with what your CV shows.

How we counted, and what we can't know

On 2026-11-05 we took up to 18 of the newest vacancies in each of jobs.ge's 17 categories, 296 in all, and read their public pages. We followed the site's robots.txt rules, including a 5-second pause between requests.

28% of the vacancies had almost no text: just a link to another site, or an image. We left those out. Every share on this page refers to the 195 vacancies with a full text (over 400 characters).

We looked for each requirement by its words, in Georgian and English ("ინგლისურ" or "English", for example), and checked a random sample by hand. Counting words isn't exact: a vacancy that mentions a language doesn't always require it. Read the numbers as a direction, not an exact share.

This is one site on one day. Not every employer posts on jobs.ge, and vacancies change with the season. We don't keep or publish the vacancies' text or employers' names, only the totals.
