Accountant CV: a sample, tailored to the job

Most accountant vacancies in Georgia ask for the same things: RS.ge, a named accounting program (FINA, ORIS or 1C) and Excel. A CV that shows those words and the real size of your work always beats a generic "kept the company's accounts".

What the job ads keep asking for

  • A degree in accounting, finance or economics.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience. For a junior role, time as a chief accountant's assistant often counts.
  • Hands-on RS.ge (the Revenue Service portal): tax returns, e-invoices and waybills.
  • A named accounting program: FINA, ORIS, 1C or Balance.
  • Good Excel.
  • Georgian tax rules: VAT, profit tax, income tax and payroll.
  • In some vacancies English or Russian at B2; at international companies, IFRS.
  • Accuracy and deadlines: closing the month by the 10th of the next.

One person, two jobs, two CVs

VacancyJunior accountant at a retail chain

Asks for: FINA, RS.ge, till and Z-report differences, bank transactions, Excel, English or Russian at B2.

Nino Beridze

Accountant (retail, FINA)

Summary

Accountant with 6 years' experience, 4 of them at a retail chain. Every day I check shop sales in FINA, fix till differences and handle waybills on RS.ge. English B2.

Experience (top bullets)

  • Check the daily sales of 6 shops in FINA every day: returns, payment types and till differences.
  • Post bank transactions in GEL and USD and track the balances.
  • Handle waybills and e-invoices on RS.ge, up to 400 documents a month.

Skills: FINA, RS.ge, Excel, till control, bank transactions

What changed: Retail and FINA are in the headline because that's exactly what the vacancy asks for. The till and bank bullets moved up and English went into the summary. The audit firm's details got shorter.

VacancyAccountant at a construction company

Asks for: ORIS or 1C, VAT and profit tax returns, settlements with contractors, payroll, month-end close by the 10th.

Nino Beridze

Accountant (tax returns, payroll, ORIS)

Summary

Accountant with 6 years' experience. I prepare tax returns on RS.ge, run payroll and reconcile supplier balances. I work in ORIS and FINA and close each month by the 10th of the next.

Experience (top bullets)

  • Prepare VAT and income tax returns and close each month by the 10th of the next; no penalties in 2 years.
  • Calculated pay, income tax and pension contributions for 40 employees.
  • Reconciled balances with suppliers and bank statements in ORIS.

Skills: ORIS, RS.ge, VAT, payroll, reconciliation, Excel

What changed: The weight moved to tax returns, payroll and settlements, and ORIS comes first because the vacancy names it. Nino has no construction experience, so the CV doesn't claim any: that's for the interview.

Before you hit send

  • Name the programs. "Knowledge of accounting software" says nothing; FINA, ORIS and 1C are the exact words the ATS and HR look for.
  • Show the size of the job: how many clients, shops, employees or documents a month. Every accountant writes "kept the books".
  • If returns always went in on time with no penalties, say so. For an accountant that's one of the strongest results there is.
